Kristin Wildman Shirahama elected to Women's Bar Association Board

We are pleased to announce that Attorney Kristin Wildman Shirahama of the firm was elected recently to serve on the Board of Directors of the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts (WBA). She also co-chairs the Legislative Policy Committee of the WBA with the firm's research attorney, Ann Morse Hartner, herself a former WBA board member. Attorney Shirahama has been with the firm for five years, and is an associate of its Planning and Probate Department, where she concentrates on elder and disability law, estate planning and trust administration.

The WBA is one of the most active bar associations in the state and boasts a growing membership of more than 1500 women lawyers, judges and law students. The WBA's mission is to achieve the full and equal participation of women in the legal profession and in a just society. The WBA's legislative agenda includes thoughtful and innovative legislation to support and empower the women and children of the commonwealth. The WBA has more than twenty committees that support women in the practice of law. WBA activities include drafting amicus briefs for important court cases, studying employment issues affecting women, encouraging women to enter the judiciary, recognizing the achievement of women in the law, and providing pro bono services to women in need through supporting its charitable sister organization, the Women’s Bar Foundation.
