Susan H. Levin of the firm, together with Attorney Harry S. Margolis, spokw on March 7, 2007 at a seminar for elder law attorneys sponsored by the Boston Bar Association. They discussed strategies for coping with the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. This federal law, enacted in February 2006, and Massachusetts implementing regulations enacted over the months since, have created new problems, uncertainties -- and some new opportunities -- in financial aspects of planning for long-term care. The seminar focussed on the latest thinking in this area, and on practical and realistic advice for clients.
