Among its activities, the RF&G Small Business Group assists individuals in the purchase and sale of businesses. We are often involved in helping clients select and establish the most appropropriate form of legal entity for the operation of their business, whether it be a corporation, a partnership or a limited liability company. A complex field in which we have considerable experience involves agreements between multiple owners, such as buy-sell agreements, and, in the case of family-run businesses, agreements between generations and other forms of succession planning. We see ourselves as members of a business owner’s team of professionals and we work cooperatively with the business owner’s accountant, insurance agent and other business advisors in order to achieve the best results for the business and its owners.
