Litigation
“One of the first things we ask our clients is, ‘how do you think that we can help you?’ Sometimes, when you find yourself in a situation where you are considering legal action, you may not even know how to answer such a question. I recommend that clients write down everything they can about their situation to help organize themselves before talking on the phone with us. New clients are oftentimes afraid of asking ‘silly’ questions. There are no silly questions. We realize that it can be a confusing process and encourage our clients to fully engage with us about their concerns.”
Attorney Faith Segal joined RF&G in 1993 and is a partner in the Litigation Group. Her practice at RF&G includes civil litigation with special interests in the areas of general business litigation, real estate and construction disputes, trust and estate litigation, guardianship, divorce, family law and personal injury.
Prior to attending law school, Faith had extensive experience as a member of a multidisciplinary team consisting of medical and allied health professionals evaluating and planning programs for individuals with disabilities such as head injury or cognitive dysfunction. She served as Chapter 766 Coordinator for Kennedy Memorial Hospital, now known as Fransiscan Childrens' Hospital, working tirelessly to ensure access to special education for children. This experience was instrumental in her decision to practice law.
“My work at Kennedy Memorial Hospital had a powerful effect on my decision to become a lawyer. I felt that I could actually change things by being a lawyer. I could see the impact I could have in terms of not just helping people understand their disabilities, I could have an impact on the establishment, and help change things in a bigger way.”
After graduating with her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, Faith worked in a general practice. With her special interest in personal injury, Faith also worked as an insurance defense attorney before joining RF&G.
“I think what sets our firm apart from other firms is client communication. While we cannot deliver good news every time, our clients appreciate our responsiveness and the level of interaction. That, coupled with the mutual respect and support from other professionals within our firm, but outside our practice area, is really unique. Clients can receive a consultation within the office from a specialist in elder law , estate planning real estate and more. The specialized attorneys in our office serve as an invaluable resource to each other.”
Faith is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and a member of its Civil Litigation Section. In addition to practicing in the Massachusetts and Federal Courts, Faith has been admitted as an attorney of the Supreme Court. Faith is also a member of the Women’s Bar Association and the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.
A 1973 graduate of Cornell University, Attorney Segal obtained a Master's Degree from Syracuse University and a Law Degree from Suffolk University Law School. |
